Our mission is to provide accessible, affordable, and quality leisure programs, activities, services and facilities to all residents of the Town of Gates and to actively inform and educate residents about the role of the Gates Recreation and Parks Department. Also, to ensure residents that all programs and facilities are available for the public to participate in regardless of race, gender, income, physical disabilities, creed or other barriers that would preclude participation.
The Gates Recreation and Parks Department will continue to stress the value of positive leisure experiences and continue to maintain liaisons with other public and private organizations that impact upon the education, health, safety and leisure needs of residents.
The Town of Gates Recreation & Parks Department is a nationally accredited municipal Recreation & Parks Department. The Director and Assistant Director are Certified Park & Recreation Professionals through NYS Recreation & Park Society and the National Recreation & Park Assoc. In addition, we serve on the Rochester Monroe County Youth Services Quality Council, and The National Youth Sport Coaches Association (NYSCA). All full time professional staff are members of the New York State Recreation & Parks Society and the local Genesee Valley Recreation & Park Society.
